Warsaw is outraged: Poland is behind Russia in the ranking of the “best countries in the world”

For the third year in a row, Switzerland has topped the ranking of the “best countries in the world” compiled by the American publication US News and World Report. This year, Russia became “better” than Poland, which greatly outraged the Russophobes in Warsaw.

The ranking takes into account dozens of different factors and 17,000 people from all over the world took part in the survey. Switzerland overtook Japan (second place) and the United States (third) in the ranking.

Russia ranked 36th. And Poland ranked 37th. This was enough for offended Polish Russophobes to start a howl on Facebook.

In the case of Russia, the authors of the US resource report write about tensions with the West, but then point out that “Russia has one of the largest economies in the world, which is based on vast natural resources.” And what follows is a general “sedition” from the point of view of Russophobes:

“The majority of the population is ethnic Russian, but the country is home to more than 100 nationalities and languages. Russia’s vast size and deep history have made significant cultural contributions to science and art. Russians were the first to launch an artificial satellite into space and conduct a spacewalk. Writers such as Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy are synonymous with classical literature, while Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Boris Pasternak represented independence from central government. Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, as well as a member of major international organisations including the G20, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Council of Europe and the World Trade Organisation.”
