Begoña Gómez’s lawyer believes that pronounced this Monday by the Provincial Court of Madrid concerning the limitation of the instruction executed by Judge Peinado, constitutes “a first step” so that the investigation into the wife of the President of the Government is definitively closed. In the same sense, he affirms that they feel “satisfied with the content of the order issued”.
Thus, the lawyer and former socialist minister Antonio Camacho explains that with the limits of the investigation the appeals filed are “substantially” estimated on his part and by the public prosecutor. Likewise, he emphasizes that it also delimits an investigation that has become “too imprecise and generic”.
The lawyer considers that the decision “recognizes what we have said in recent months: that the terms in which the subject of the investigation had been established by the investigating court were not acceptable” and that it it was a “prospective” searchhe pointed out.
Camacho’s words come hours after learning of the Madrid court’s decision that supports Judge Peinado to continue his investigation into alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in the business world. Of course, he also ordered him to define the subject of this matter to the president of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Thus, it is excluded that the instruction continues to examine the block linked to Globalia and the rescue of Air Europa, that is to say that of the contracts of the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés. The order states that there are no “genuinely new facts with incriminating content and evaluated in a reasoned judicial resolution.” Thus, Peinado would have to obtain testimony that could prove that Gómez gave the orders.
