“We relived what happened 40 years ago”

All the Peralejos gathered this Monday to commemorate the memory of Lieutenant Colonel Pablo Estrada. The town observed a minute of silence in tribute to this soldier, who lost his life last Friday after being involved in an accident with an F-18 fighter jet while flying over the city’s surroundings.

Many residents of this municipality of Teruel also remember captains José Manuel Hernández Ferri and Gonzalo Antonio Gracia Ramos, who died 40 years ago, in 1984, also in a plane crash. “We have a certain feeling about these events. It seems that we have relived what happened 40 years ago, making it even more tragic if possible,” lamented Peralejos Mayor Carlos López.

Actually, This weekend a tribute was to take place, which was postponed, while three days of official mourning were decreed.. When the investigation is completed and the events in memory of Pablo Estrada take place, the City Hall will begin work on organizing a joint event in memory of these three victims.
