Ibrahima, one of the two young people, identifies at the trial “Llumba”, one of the five accused: “I kept this face”
“The boy was full of blood, everywhere, we were very scared, we had never seen anything like this.” This is the appalling scenario that the two young Senegalese faced when in the early hours of July 2 and 3, 2021, they tried to come to the aid of a young man who was being lynched by a crowd of individuals on the seafront of La Coruña. This is how they described it this Friday in their witness statement at the trial. The victim was Samuel Luiz, and this savage collective attack ended his life.
The first to appear among the two young people who tried to save Samuel from the punches and kicks of his attackers was Ibrahima. In response to questions from the parties, during the trial which took place before the People’s Court of the Provincial Court of La Coruña, Ibrahima was able to identify one of the five accused of the assassination as a participant in the attack: “I I found myself with the Face, I kept this face”, he declared, addressing Alejandro Freire, known under the pseudonym “Llumba”.
