We were shocked when we learned that there were rockets in the houses of Lebanese civilians – UNFIL Commander

Spanish General Aroldo Lázaro Sáenz, head of the UN mission and commander of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), gave an interview in which he answered a series of questions related to the presence of Hezbollah weapons in the area under the control of its 10,000-strong contingent.

This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.

In an interview with KAN TV, when asked about the origin of Hezbollah’s missiles in the area, the general admitted that they were surprised when they discovered that the missiles were stored in the homes of Lebanese civilians.

He stressed that this is extremely dangerous for the civilian population. Lázaro Sáenz also noted that they have not received any information about the presence of weapons in their area of responsibility, despite UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701, which requires UNIFIL to be notified of any movement of weapons or ammunition.

The general also explained that most of the missiles were placed at a considerable distance from UNIFIL observation posts, making them difficult to detect.

Earlier, Kursor reported that the UN had issued an appeal.

The UN is seeking a solution to resolve the conflict in southern Lebanon as further escalation could lead to a global war.

Cursor also wrote about whether Hezbollah would go to a full-scale war with Israel.

There are two possible scenarios for the development of the conflict in the future.
