The Zaragoza City Council sent the first truck with essential products in Valenciain response to the emergency caused by DANA. This initiative, which is part of a solidarity campaign organized in collaboration with El Refugio, was supported by the Carreras Group.
The Minister of Citizen Participation and Internal Regime, Alfonso Mendoza, expressed his gratitude to citizens for their rapid response to the appeal made by the Mayor of Zaragoza. “We have had a constant flow of citizens bringing essential products. We will continue collecting as long as the emergency persists” Mendoza said.
The first collection of materials was a success, with the Transportes Carreras truck already on its way to Valencia. The Royal Brotherhood of Our Lady of Refuge and Piety, located at 1 Tomás Crespo Agüero Street, will remain open until 7:00 p.m. to continue receiving donations.
From Monday, the University Civic Center, at 4 rue Violante de Hungary, will be the new reception point from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..
In addition to collecting products, the City Hall launched a fundraising campaign in collaboration with Ibercaja and the Ibercaja Foundation. A first contribution of 10,000 euros was deposited into the account opened for this cause, whose number is ES55 2085 0103 9603 3317 9067.
Contributions can also be made through Bizum, using the DANA code up to the number 05404. The Red Cross is the entity that will channel the donations received and distribute them according to the most urgent needs detected in the affected areas.
Zaragoza City Hall is committed to continuing to support the collection and delivery of aid for as long as necessary to care for those affected by DANA. “We must thank the people of Zaragoza for responding to the appeal made yesterday by the Mayor of Zaragoza to help, each, as far as possible, to the people who are going through difficult times in the area affected by DANA”, said the advisor.
