The president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, continues to differ from the discourse of the last independence governments in Catalonia. This Sunday, after participating in an event promoting Jaén oil, he broadcast a message in which recognizes the close link with Andalusiafrom where thousands of people have emigrated in recent decades.

“Catalonia and Andalusia have a close bond. Today we would not be what we are without the Andalusians and Andalusians who came to Catalonia to contribute to its progress”, said the Catalan president in a message on social networks after the closing of the First Oil Festival of Jaén, during which he was accompanied by the president of the Provincial Delegation, Paco Reyes.

“This magnificent land welcomed the Andalusians in the 50s and 60s. Many Andalusians came to the community and found opportunity and that they have collaborated in an important way in the development of Catalonia,” said the Catalan president after the event.

Likewise, the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia congratulated the Provincial Delegation of Jaén for this action aimed at promoting early harvest extra virgin olive oils: “I congratulate the Provincial Council for not staying at home and explaining the good oil produced there, to go and tell the rest of Spain. For the second time we have decided to come to Catalonia and it is an honor,” he underlined.
