Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, convicted of rape and sexual assault, complained of heart pain and underwent surgery, ABC News reported.
“Mr. Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital last night due to health concerns.” – said the producer’s representatives.
They added that Weinstein, 72, has “multiple serious health issues that require ongoing treatment.”
As reported EADailyPreviously, the New York appeals court overturned the conviction of 72-year-old Weinstein in the case of one of the rapes. At the same time, Weinstein will remain in prison to serve an impressive sentence, having been convicted in Los Angeles in 2022 of also rape and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
After the verdicts were overturned, Weinstein was hospitalized in the hospital ward of Bellevue prison in New York. His representative said that “health-wise, he’s kind of off the rails.”
Last week, the UK Crown Prosecution Service closed its case against Weinstein with further allegations of rape and harassment. The prosecution explained the termination of the case by saying there was “no real prospect of a trial starting.”
