West Azerbaijan Chronicle: Tigranakert “created” by Armenian cunning and our indifference

Within the framework of the Chronicle of Western Azerbaijan project, the program “Armenians are looking for Tigranakert in Aghdam” was broadcast, hosted by Doctor of Art Studies Elchin Alibeyli.

Oku.Az reports that in the PhD program in History, Associate Professor Tavakkul Aliyev speaks about the “Tigranakert joy” of Armenians.

He said that Armenian cunning and our indifference caused the spread of false Armenian history: “Russia, which moved Armenians to the Caucasus and began to write history for them, used scientific and administrative resources and tied the hands and feet of Azerbaijanis. Researchers, on the one hand, in some places people who considered the historical area as their personal property, destroyed it and hindered research, paving the way for the machinations of Armenians.

According to him, the “Tigranakert game” is a problem that arose due to Armenian cunning and our indifference: “The Armenians were looking for Tigranakert in Agdam. They made history from the common words of an Azerbaijani scientist and invented the “Tale of Tigranakert.” Occupying our lands, the Armenians digging a trench in Aghdam found a city – a false story. History and science are silent about the Tigranites, who never existed, who came to plunder, destroyed the existing cities of Tovuz. Tigran’s crimes as the founder and builder of the city in the Caucasus captured 23 cities and took the population hostage. The Turks who were protected from the invaders in Western Azerbaijan fled to the Kura region. Armenian archaeologists admit that the Turks still lived in the Caucasus for 3 thousand years.

Musa Kalankatli, a native of T. Aliyev, does not mention the name of Tigranakert anywhere: “The name of Tigranakert is not mentioned in the detailed records of the Caucasus of the 7th century of the Arabs. In the 7th century, Sebeos invented the “Tale of Tigernakert” in the 20th century. Armenians are from Urartu and Tigran but they have learned to plunder, steal and destroy.”

In the end, the historian stresses that thousands of years ago the Armenians had a habit of continuously occupying, usurping and expelling Azerbaijani Turks in Western Azerbaijan.

It should be recalled that the aim of the Western Azerbaijan Chronicle project is to preserve and promote the name of our historical lands, as well as to learn about the deportation of Azerbaijanis by Armenians, the toponyms that existed in these territories, but their names. Countless examples of underground and surface material culture have been erased: ancient settlements, necropolises, burial mounds, remains of a castle, palace and fortification, caravansary, bridges, burial chests, stone crosses, statues of horses and rams, temples, churches. Mosques, pyres and hearths are revealed, and the facts confirming that the area is a pure Oghuz-Turk settlement are communicated to the world community.

Also the president Ilham Aliyev Regarding Western Azerbaijan, he said: “The map of the beginning of the 20th century once again shows that Western Azerbaijan is the historical land of Azerbaijan, the names of cities and villages are of Azerbaijani origin, and we know very well that Azerbaijani people have lived on the territory of present-day Armenia throughout history. Now the main task is to make the world community aware of this as well,” – according to him, it is about promoting the duties arising from the Concept of Return of the Western Azerbaijani Community developed by him.

It also aims to enlighten the thoughts of historians and researchers about West Azerbaijan and the life stories of people who were deported.
