The West should offer Russia a ceasefire in Ukraine with a suspension of arms supplies to kyiv. This statement was made by member of the Bundestag (German Parliament) from the leftist group Gregor Gysi in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper, TASS reports.
According to the parliamentarian, it is evident that from a military point of view Ukraine cannot maintain its territorial integrity if it does not want to run the risk of an inevitable escalation.
“The West must offer Putin a ceasefire with suspension of arms supplies and the start of peace negotiations. “If you refuse, you will indirectly approve more arms supplies from the West.” – Gisi said.
At the same time, the deputy added, territory should not be renounced during peace negotiations. He stressed that the left advocates an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and the cessation of arms supplies.
