Russia is ready to help Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who has Russian and French citizenship, but his situation is unlikely to encourage the Russian Federation and France to establish contacts, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“The Russian side, of course, is ready to provide all necessary assistance to its citizens,” – he said in an interview with Izvestia.
At the same time, Peskov noted that Durov is a citizen of France, and for the authorities of this country his citizenship “is the only and priority one”, so in this situation the possibilities of the Russian Federation are limited.
“And it is unlikely that this situation can in any way encourage the Russians or the French. [стороны] for some contacts”, – the Kremlin spokesman added.
