What are the conditions under which the Russian general accused of fraud is being held?

Former Russian Deputy Defence Minister Pavel Popov, who is accused of fraud, will not be held in the same cell as repeat offenders and violent offenders because he has no previous convictions.

Oku.AzAccording to News.ru, this was reported by Russian law enforcement agencies.

According to the information, Popov should be charged within 10 days from the moment of his admission to the detention center.

It was noted that, in accordance with established rules, he will not be placed in the same cell as persons previously convicted, as well as those accused of crimes related to violence.

It was reported that Pavel Popov will initially remain in quarantine at the Butyrka pre-trial detention center, after which he will be transferred to a general cell. At the same time, the general will be able to order food in shops or restaurants, and the delivery will be carried out under the supervision of employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

It should be recalled that on August 29, the 235th Garrison Military Court ordered Popov’s arrest until October 29.

Prior to that, the Russian Investigative Committee found out that he carried out construction and repair work at the expense of the Patriot Park on the territory he owned in the Krasnogorsk district of the Moscow region, as well as organized the supply of various material resources.

Popov, who is responsible for the development, maintenance and operation of the Patriot park in the period 2021-2024, is accused of enriching himself at the expense of this institution, along with the director of the park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, who was previously prosecuted for criminal liability, and Vladimir Shesterov, deputy head of the Main Department for Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It should be noted that Popov does not admit his guilt in the robbery in the Patriot Park.
