what could become of Spain

THE economic freedom It is generally linked to liberal political thought, which is why its acceptance has been subject to ideology, as if its results were questionable. This is where my disagreement comes from, since I consider that practically all thoughts can be compatible with the method that increases production, well-being and human development, even those that directly oppose liberalism.

So, by economic freedom we should not mean something monolithic, typical of specific systems or ideologies. We have found this model in many societies, some primitive, others not purely state…

own Saint John Paul II is requested in Centesimus Annus if capitalism is the best way to manage the economy, and answers: “If for capitalism It is an economic system that recognizes the fundamental and positive role of business, the market, private property and the resulting responsibility towards the means of production, of free human creativity in the sector of the economy, the answer is certainly positive, although it would perhaps be more appropriate to speak of business economics, market economyor simply free economy“.

In other words, we can extract a universal value, an economic freedom, even if not adapted to the concept of capitalism. It is only necessary entrust production to the company so that it is organized organically without the need to obey strict, centralized guidelines.

Effects of economic freedom

For example, advancing economic freedom in Spain would be eliminate bureaucratic obstaclesfacilitate entrepreneurship, encourage savings and investment, view creativity favorably, appreciate good ideas and, of course, reduce taxes and withdraw the State from production so that society has more room for action.

Fewer bureaucratic hurdles would lead to bigger and better production in the primary sector and, from there, a general improvement of the entire economy. For example, eliminating the countless restrictions from which the agricultural sector suffers – use of phytosanitary products, excessive bureaucracy, high taxesproduction quotas – would reduce costs, generating more profit marginattracting people to the countryside and increasing supply.

A greater supply would make the final product cheaper, which would benefit the food industry, which would reduce costsfollowing the same process as the farmers and thus making the final consumer pay less at the supermarket. It is not something ideological, nor liberal, nor libertarian, it is common sense, something that anyone, whatever their political position, can defend without fear of being a RIGHT.

If ideological battles were put aside and we could start promoting this productive system to reduce costs and devote resources to innovation now improve people’s well-beingSpain would begin to advance and stop settling. A country with a strong economic, industrial, productive and commercial structure, capable of responding to any challenge in seconds.

In fact, the generation of resources through increased productivity would of course make it possible to create support networks as economically maintained social disagreements. It’s obvious, I can’t stop producing to help someone, but I have to be able to produce more and better so that helping them doesn’t pose any problem. Money comes first, well few things are free in the world – usually the best ones are, as long as we are lucky – and we all have to support ourselves.

“He who does not work does not eat,” he said. St. Paulreferring to those who saw the parousia approaching and therefore stopped trying, forcing others to work twice as hard. That’s the idea. It is not that Saint Paul is cruel and wants to say that to receive something you have to earn it and, on the contrary, that you have to die of hunger, but that he reflects a reality of the world: to have something to eat, you have to get it. It’s not ideological, it’s what surrounds us constantly, whether we like it or not.

In this sense, any political measure, any increase public spendingany advertising of any nature whatsoever public aid, It should start with the question: How will you pay? And if this way of paying comes at the cost of harming production – which allows us to have things – it should not be done. Of course, this would prevent the person in charge from winning the election. The effort, more than political, must therefore be social, with votes and demands from those who clearly know what works economically.
