The victory of Republican Donald Trump in the United States was not unexpected for political experts. It is true that the difference was greater than expected. But this is not relevant.
An interesting point about Trump’s election as president was that he was elected president for the second time after defeating a female candidate. Trump, who won his first election against Hillary Clinton, lost to Biden. This time he beat Kamala Harris. This is an interesting nuance. Conservative politicians can be proud of these points.
One aspect of Trump’s victory is particularly notable. In this way, he has gained an advantage in the Senate. This will make you carry out a freer policy.
So what lies ahead for America in the era of Trump?
Above all, Trump will pay attention to the interior of the United States. Because the American economy is not in good shape. The main problem for voters is economic problems. In this sense, it is not difficult to understand Trump.
However, many problems are piling up on the new president’s table. During the election campaign, Trump said he would fight the flow of illegal immigrants. During the Biden-Harris era, the flow of illegal immigrants from the southern borders of the United States reached a record level. Trump is expected to be the first to fight this problem. However, it is not easy at all, because the matter has legal problems, that is, they are beyond Trump’s control. On the other hand, illegal immigrants are cheap labor, in this sense, their deportation will not be without damage to the US economy.
As we mentioned previously, the development of the American economy is one of the priority issues for the new president. However, the United States is a liberal economy and the president’s attitude is not decisive. It’s also interesting to see what will happen with Trump’s new customs tariffs (a 60 percent tax on Chinese goods) and lower taxes overall. However, Trump managed to achieve success in the economy during his first term as president.
One of the most serious problems facing the new administration is the Ukraine issue. Trump has repeatedly criticized US military aid to Ukraine. He also stated that he would resolve the conflict in just 24 hours. On the Middle East issue (Gaza and Lebanon), Trump also acts as a supporter of peace. But how to achieve all this is in question. For example, under what conditions will Russia and Ukraine make peace? Is it possible to find a framework that both parties are happy with? These are not easy questions, but in any case, Trump’s diplomacy is interesting.
The prosecutor investigating Trump also promised to fire Smith and pardon those arrested in the 2021 congressional raid. The fate of these promises is also thought-provoking.
In short, President Trump faces serious problems related to both domestic and foreign policy. He is in a stronger position than during the last presidency. In this sense, its activity is extremely important not only for the people of the United States, but also for the entire world.
