Russian President Vladimir Putin has increased the personnel strength of the Russian Armed Forces to 2,389,130 units. The decision to increase the number of troops was made a long time ago, military expert Major General and Doctor of Military Sciences Vyacheslav Kruglov told Pravda.Ru.
This is due, first of all, to the fact that the Moscow and Leningrad military districts have reappeared in Russia.
“This is also due to the fact that combined arms armies and partnerships were created in the north-west in connection with the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO.” – said.
In the previous decree of the Russian leader, the authorized strength of the Armed Forces was set at 2,209,130 personnel, including 1,320,000 military personnel. According to the new decree, it will be increased to 2,389,130 units, including 1,500,000 military personnel, by December 1.
The Ministry of Defense was instructed to allocate money from the Russian budget to implement the decree.
