For example, even though there is no seat on the bus, we often witness passengers boarding the bus almost staying out of the vehicle, continuing on the bus step with the door open. Even videos taken by citizens on the subject were shared on social networks. Of course, these situations pose a danger to both passengers and other drivers on the road.
What kind of punishment awaits drivers who commit these types of situations?
In his statement to Bizim.media, the press secretary of the Baku City State Traffic Police Department, Togrul Nasirli, explained what punitive measures will be taken against drivers who commit such violations:
“According to article 342.1.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a fine of 40 AZN is provided for moving the vehicle without closed doors or for opening the doors while moving.”
But if the passenger is left outside the vehicle, how is this situation regulated?
“If the passenger is outside the vehicle, this case is regulated by article 327.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The driver will be fined 100 manats.”
Are passengers also fined for the matter?
“Here the driver is fined for violating the rules of passenger transportation or for keeping the doors open while the vehicle is moving, but the citizen is not fined. Because the driver is responsible, and in such cases measures are taken against that driver in accordance with the law,” said Togrul Nasirli.
