What the Nobel Prize winners said about Harris and Trump

More than 80 American Nobel laureates in the fields of physics, chemistry, economics and medicine said the upcoming presidential election will be the most impactful in a long time for the future of science and the United States.

This was reported by The New York Times, citing an open letter from 82 Nobel Prize winners.

Kamala Harris received the support of scientists, while representatives of various sciences describe Donald Trump as a potential threat.

In an open letter, scientists say Trump’s presidency threatens scientific progress and living standards.
Dozens of economists, including two who just won a Nobel Prize, argue that Kamala Harris’s economic program is better than Donald Trump’s.
Among the signatories of the open letter are molecular biologist Gary Ruvkun, chemist David Baker, physicist John Hopfield and economist Daron Acemoglu.

“We, the undersigned, believe that Kamala Harris would be a much better steward of our economy than Donald Trump, and we support her candidacy,” said another message written by 23 Nobel laureates in economics. They believe Donald Trump will “jeopardize any improvement in living standards” given his previous proposals for huge cuts to science funding.

The letter notes that “everyone has different views on the details of different economic policies,” but Harris’ overall economic agenda “will improve investment, sustainability, job opportunities, and equity, as opposed to counterproductive Donald Trump’s economic agenda.

Recall that “Cursor” wrote that ten days before the United States presidential elections, the fight between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is intensifying. According to the Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, both candidates have equal support in seven key states known as swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Washington. The level of support is 49% for each candidate. and the statistical error of the survey is 1 percent.
