The Israeli army had been pursuing him for a year. On Wednesday, October 16, Yahya Sinouar, mastermind of the October 7 attack, was finally killed in broad daylight during an exchange of fire with an Israeli patrol, in Rafah, south of the enclave. The following day, Israeli authorities released a video purportedly showing Yahya Sinouar, filmed by a drone, shortly before his death. the world was able to verify the location of these images by comparing them with photos of the Hamas leader’s body, as well as other images taken by the Israeli army in recent months, in the same area.
