Baku TV prepared a report from the house of Ulvi Mikayilov, a martyr during local anti-terrorist measures carried out by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Bahruz Mikayilov, the father of martyr Ulvi Mikayilov, who was awarded the Order of the Third Degree “For Service to the Fatherland” and the Medal “For the Fatherland”, his son sensed in advance that he would become a martyr:
“I went to meet him a month after my son was sent for military service. As he was sitting at the tea table with his fellow soldiers, his friends laughingly said that Ulvi had said that he would be martyred. A month before he was martyred, he told his fellow soldiers again that he would be martyred. He also told his grandmother that if he dies, we should bury him in Fuzuli, next to his grandfather. His second will was to live in our native Fuzuli. I fulfilled both of my son’s wills.”
B. Mikayilov also said that after being martyred, he always saw his son laughing in his dreams:
“One day, my friend told me that he had seen Ulvi in a dream. In his dream, my son told him, ‘Tell my father not to cry too much, I am in heaven, take care of yourself,'” he says.
Speaking about what it feels like to be a martyr father, B. Mikhailov said that he was always proud of his son:
“I am at many state events, in the audience. When everyone says that this is Ulvi Mikayilov’s father, I am proud of my son for being the father of such a brave hero.”
