US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said it was impossible to predict precisely what an eventual Israeli attack on Iran would be, and emphasized that the decision rests with Israel.

Austin assured that the United States will continue to make efforts to reduce tensions in the region, striving to de-escalate the conflict.
Recall that Austin previously confirmed the deployment of the American missile defense system in Israel.
Israel has officially deployed the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile defense system, significantly bolstering the country’s defense capabilities in the face of a growing threat from Iran. Israeli officials confirmed that the system has already entered combat service, increasing preparedness for possible attacks and retaliatory actions.
Over the past week, more than 20 U.S. transport aircraft delivered key elements of the THAAD system, including launchers, radars and interceptor missiles. A team of US military personnel also arrived in Israel to operate and maintain the system in close cooperation with the Israeli air defense forces.
THAAD is an advanced missile defense system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles at altitudes of up to 200 kilometers. Unlike the Israeli Hetz-2 system, the THAAD has high mobility, allowing it to be rapidly deployed in various regions.
This system will be a key element in protecting Israel from possible short- and medium-range missile attacks, which is especially important in the context of the threat from Iran.
