What you need to know about the Huesca Local Police competitions: number of places, conditions, exams and dates

He Huesca City Hall called for oppositions, in turn, for cover 18 local police stations. Among these vacancies, three will be reserved for professional troops and sailors with more than five years of service.

What requirements do I have to meet to become a Local Police Officer in Huesca?

Among the requirements to participate in this call are Spanish nationality; being over 16 years old and not exceeding retirement age; not suffering from illnesses or physical disabilities that prevent them from carrying out the functions of the position or having no malicious criminal record.

Some specific requirements are to have the driving license A, A2 and B; have a minimum height of 1.65 meters for men and 1.60 meters for women; and be in possession of Baccalaureate, Technician or equivalent.

Those who aspire to the places reserved for the military must belong to the troops and sailors and have more than five years of service.

When can I submit my application? How can I do it?

The deadline for submitting applications began on September 11 and ends October 8, 2024.

Applications will be submitted to the Electronic headquarters of the Huesca City Hall. Or in person at the General Registry from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The cost of the examination fee is 17 euros.

What will the exam be like?

The selective process will develop through opposition and the selective path.

Opposition

During the first exercise of opposition, a written form must be completed. 100 question test. The exam will be graded from 0 to 10 points, and a minimum of five points is required to pass. Each correct answer will add 0.10 points; blank answers will not count; and incorrect answers will subtract 0.025 points.

In the second exercise, candidates must succeed six physical tests:

  • Gentle rope climbing: men will climb five meters and women four.
  • Lift the weight from the floor with both hands until it is above your head. Women should lift 30 kilos and men 40.
  • 50 meter freestyle test. Men must do it in 45 seconds and women in 50.
  • Long jump with a preliminary run of 4.20 meters for men and 3.60 meters for women.
  • High jump of 85 centimeters for men and 70 for women.
  • 1,500 meter sprint race. Men must complete it in 5:50 and women in 6:40.

Tests will be assessed as pass or fail, and passing all of them is necessary to move on to the next phase.

The third exercise is intended to measure psychological aptitudes and the suitability of candidates to the profile places called. In addition to checking the ability to work in stressful situations and the ability to work in a team, among others. It will take into account:

  • Personality: emotional stability, control, responsibility and the like.
  • Intellectual abilities: logical reasoning, memory, speed of perception and the like.
  • Ability to deal with citizens
  • Ability to adapt, work and take responsibility.

In the fourth exercise, candidates must develop in writing one or more practical scenarios based on the themes of specific subjects and, more specifically, with the exercise of the functions of the position that is the subject of the call. It will be graded from 0 to 10 points, five being necessary to pass it.

Medical examination

People who have passed the opposition phase must submit to a medical examination which guarantees that they do not suffer from illnesses, physical or mental impediments that prevent them from carrying out the functions of the positions offered. This phase aims to:

  • Make sure that men are at least 1.65 meters tall and women 1.60 meters tall.
  • Mark the relevant types of medical examinations.
  • Request additional reports deemed appropriate.
  • Checks for stimulant or other drug use may be carried out.

This test will also be graded as pass or fail.

Training courses

Candidates proposed by the Court as trainee civil servants, after having passed all the preceding tests, must follow the mandatory training be part of the Local Police Force of the Huesca City Council and be career civil servants.
