Everything is ready for the MTV Europe Music Awards gala to be held on Sunday evening at the Co-op Live pavilion in Manchester (UK). This is the 30th edition of these awards organized by the legendary music television channel.

What time will the MTV EMA 2024 gala take place?

In the live performance section, it will be necessary to count on stars with a long career like Pet Shop Boys – who will present the new MTV EMA Pop Pioneers category as the first historical winners – and the rapper Busta Rhymes, who will offer a repertoire with whom not only will perform his greatest hits – like Don’t do this either I know what you want– but will also be honored with the Global Icon Award.

Among the emerging artists who will participate, it is worth highlighting the young Mexican composer of corridos tumbados Peso Pluma. Who are the nominees for the MTV EMAs 2024

The list of nominations is long and highlights the almighty Taylor Swift, who comes out on top with six nominations and is for the second year the one with the most nominations: Best Artist, Best Live Performance, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Song , Best Fan Club and Best Video. She is followed by Billie Eilish, nominated for best artist, best collaboration, best pop song, best fan club and best song.

Ariana Grande follows them both with nominations for Best Pop Song, Best Song, Best Fan Club and Best Video. Sabrina Carpenter is also up for four awards: Best Artist, Best Song, Best Pop Song, Best Fan Club. She is followed by Beyoncé with three nominations – Best Song, Best Fan Club and Best Artist – and Charli XCX, nominated for Best Collaboration, specifically for a song with Billie Eilish, and Best Fan Club.

This year, there are also 19 new artists nominated for the first time in a gala eminently dominated by women: Kehlani, Tinashe, Disclosure, Fred Again, Fontaines DC, The Last Dinner Party, Jimin from BTS, Flyana Boss, Laufey, Shaboozey , The Attention, Victoria Monét, LE SSERAFIM, Teddy Swims.

As for the Best Collaboration section, several illustrious ones are in dispute. To the date of Charli XCX and Billie Eilish we must add that of Lady Gaga with Bruno Mars. Also that of the rappers Future and Metro Boomin with Kendrick Lamar, and of course that of the Thai LISA and the Spanish Rosalía. All will rival the aforementioned featherweight’s collaboration with Brazilian Anitta.

And of course with the big favorite, Taylor Swift, who collaborated with New York rapper Post Malone on the song Fifteen days. And finally, in the Best Spanish Artist category, Ana Mena, Belén Aguilera, Dani Fernández, Lola Indigo and Mikel Izal will compete.
