THE DANA The crisis announced last week was not as intense as feared in most of the affected areas. In some places it caused serious damage, but in most cases it was just a minor Danita.
DANA is an acronym for “isolated high-level atmospheric depression”. The term is relatively young in our everyday lexicon, it spread a few years ago, and has not yet entered the academic dictionary. Yes, a synonym that we used to use more than today has done so: cold dropThe Dictionary defines it as “A mass of air which emerges from a very cold current and descends on another of warm air, producing large atmospheric disturbances accompanied by very intense precipitation.”
The Catalan quota (or whatever it is called, we still do not know the name and the details of what the socialists actually agreed on with ERC for the investiture of Salvador Illa as president), the debate on immigration, the preparation of the budgets for 2025, the necessary adjustments within the government due to the departure now of José Luis Escriva to the Bank of Spain and, in a few months, of Teresa Ribera for Europe, the rumors of a motion of censure of the right (including Junts) against Pedro Sanchez, the 41st Congress of the PSOE, the first steps of the new CGPJ and many other tense and/or controversial news bring us a start to the political year full of torrential rains, strong winds and floods.
In the past, we have described in the press the tense beginnings of a political course warm autumnespecially if there were street mobilizations. We still don’t know the timetable for the opposition’s mobilization, but I don’t think we’ll have to wait long to find out. A thousand years ago, when I was very young, academic courses started gently, piano, designed not to make us go through a traumatic leap from sweet far niente of the ferragosse with devastating intensity. There were even teachers who followed the principle of prima non datur and ultima dispensaturLatin for which even they, and not only the students, played the first and last course of the course.
