Who ensured Trump’s success in the elections? Analysis of exit polls

In the presidential election, Donald Trump managed to obtain 277 electoral votes, exceeding the required minimum of 270 votes and ensuring his victory. Trump’s success was driven by his victories in key states, which had a decisive influence on the outcome.

Israel Info writes about this.

For example, in Pennsylvania, where 97% of the votes were counted, Trump obtained 50.7% of the votes and his rival Kamala Harris 48.4%, a difference of about 150,000 votes. In Wisconsin, with 99% of the votes counted, he received 49.7% to Harris’ 48.8%. In Michigan, the result was similar: 49.8% for Trump compared to 48.2% for the Democratic candidate. In Arizona, where 61% of the votes have been counted, Trump also leads, 52% to 47.2%. Similar trends were seen in other major states: North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada, contributing to his eventual victory.

Exit polls published by CNN provided a more nuanced picture. Thus, women overall supported Harris 10% more actively than Trump, while men were 10% more likely to vote for Trump. Harris received, as expected, high support among African Americans: among men, 58% more votes than Trump, among women, 85% more. However, there was a significant change among Latinos: Men in this group, who were 23% more likely to support Biden in 2020, were 10% more likely to vote for Trump this time. Latina women remained loyal to the Democratic candidate.

Among white voters, Trump also maintained his lead, especially among men, although his margin has narrowed from previous elections. Men were 20% more likely to support him than Harris, but the margin was 3% smaller than in 2020 and 11% smaller than in the 2016 election.

The age groups demonstrated different dynamics. Trump has managed to attract young people, although he has lost some support among older generations. Harris led Trump among young people by just 13 percentage points, down significantly from 24 percentage points in 2020. In the 45-64 category, Trump received 8% more votes, up from just 1% in 2020. Among people over 65, there was a slight shift in favor of Harris: 1% more voters in this group voted for her, although support for Trump prevailed in the last election.

A significant success for Trump was support from rural voters. Compared to the last time, when his support among this group was +15, it has now increased to +27. In the suburbs, the tide has also turned in their favor, with 2% more voters voting for Trump this year, although they backed the Democratic candidate by the same margin in 2020.
