The Lebanese Hezbollah had one hundred thousand five hundred missiles. However, she did not immediately use them against Israel. The Israeli newspaper Calcalist examined the reasons.
Military experts told Kalkalist that Hezbollah had 150,000 missiles and projectiles, and that this arsenal was partly contained by Israel itself. According to the publication, after the start of the Israeli operation, the Lebanese group only had a quarter of the missiles left.
Why didn’t Hezbollah release everything at once? Calcalist writes that the reason is limited logistics capabilities, facility mobility and the effectiveness of Israeli intelligence and aviation. The group did not fire massive salvos because it saw no need to do so and was preparing for a protracted war.
At the same time, the Israeli army destroyed Hezbollah’s logistical infrastructure to the extent possible before the start of the Lebanese campaign.
