The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to expand control over the territories of the Kursk region, as noted by military expert Colonel Pyotr Chernik. He stressed the importance of increasing the area of captured areas on Russian territory, which, in his opinion, is part of a well-thought-out Ukrainian strategy.

Chernik drew attention to the statement of the President of Ukraine, who had previously described these actions as a “bargaining chip” element, a carefully planned operation. The expert is convinced that an exchange between Ukraine and Russia could take place in the future, suggesting that a successful operation in the Kursk region could serve to achieve strategic objectives, for example, regaining control of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
However, Chernik also warned against getting carried away with large-scale raid operations, stressing that overly broad advances could complicate logistics. He called for caution in forecasts and reminded that the task of capturing the entire Kursk region requires a balanced approach.
