McLaren you will have to change rear spoiler. According to ‘Motorsport’, the FIA would have forced the British team to change this part of the car which has given them so many good results in recent grands prix. The investigation was opened following a complaint from Red Bull after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend.
The difference between the McLaren spoiler and the rest is that it had a small modification. This change consisted of raising a small portion of the aileron flap, thus providing less air resistance and thus increased the speed and reduce the support.
In automotive terms, this small change has been dubbed ‘MiniDRS” and that meant a huge time saving for the McLarens. They will no longer be allowed to bend the edges of the flaps in a straight line, which will require a modification that the British team will have to make. without having to change the whole spoiler.
This spoiler has already started to generate some uncertainty among the other teams and in fact Fernando Alonso arrested for examine the back of the McLaren after the Dutch Grand Prix where the “papaya” team won.
However, it was Red Bull who has repeatedly protested against McLaren’s spoiler. Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s advisor regretted that several complaints were necessary and warned that another part of the McLaren would have to be reviewed: “We demonstrated three times against the rear wing, now it’s time to look your front wing“
