Will Germany supply weapons to Israel? – answered Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said his country intends to continue supplying weapons to Israel, despite recent proposals by French President Emmanuel Macron to suspend such support.

This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.

Scholz emphasized that Germany has already made decisions that will ensure additional arms supplies in the near future.

“We will continue to supply weapons to Israel. “We have made decisions that will ensure additional weapons supplies in the near future,” Scholz said.

Previously, CDU/CSU President Friedrich Merz expressed dissatisfaction with the German government’s policy, accusing it of not providing enough support to Israel and criticized it for refusing to issue licenses for the export of ammunition.

Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his strong condemnation of calls to impose an arms embargo on Israel.

He recalled that Israel is currently fighting on seven fronts, facing threats from various terrorist groups and states.

Netanyahu noted that Israel is actively fighting Hamas in Gaza, highlighting the atrocities committed by the October 7 terrorists, including massacres and other brutal crimes against civilians. He also mentioned the fight against Hezbollah in Lebanon, calling it one of the most armed terrorist organizations in the world. According to him, Hezbollah was preparing a large-scale attack on the northern regions of Israel, which could surpass the events of October 7.

In addition, the prime minister pointed to attacks by Shiite militants from Yemen, Iraq and Syria, who are launching hundreds of drones and missiles into Israeli territory. He also drew attention to terrorist attacks against civilians in Judea and Samaria. Netanyahu was particularly critical of the role of Iran, which he believes is behind all of these attacks, including the recent launch of more than 200 ballistic missiles toward Israel.

Netanyahu expressed outrage at calls to impose an arms embargo on Israel and rhetorically asked whether Iran would impose a similar embargo on its allies such as Hezbollah and Hamas. He pointed to the obvious answer: Iran continues to support its proxies as Western leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, discuss the possibility of cutting military aid to Israel.

Netanyahu called this position a shame and said that Israel will win, regardless of the support of the world community, but the shame of those who reject aid will remain with them for a long time.

Previously, Cursor reported that Macron expressed his condolences to Israel in Hebrew and remembered the Hamas hostages.

Emmanuel Macron offered his condolences on the October 7 anniversary following his controversial statement that “weapons supplies will not help Israel.”
