Woman accidentally sprayed her neighbor with water and ended up in court – video

Wendy Washick, of Ontario, Canada, is charged with assault with a weapon after accidentally spraying a neighbor with a water gun. The incident occurred on September 1 when the woman was playing with her children in the backyard during a barbecue.

According to Vashik, while playing, he accidentally splashed water on the chest of a neighbour who was mowing the lawn at the time. The woman immediately apologised, but the man got angry, shouted at her and called the police, saying that he was a victim of “physical violence”.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to the call and determined that two people got into an argument that resulted in one of them being “physically assaulted.” Even though the weapon was only a water gun, Wendy Washik was charged. The woman expressed bewilderment that police did not ask her any questions or examine the water gun before laying charges.

This incident took a toll on Wendy and her family. Because she works as an educational assistant for the Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Catholic District School Board, she is temporarily prohibited from returning to work until the case is resolved. The family is trying to raise money for legal fees as the trial is scheduled for Sept. 24.

A police spokesman declined to comment on the details of the case, citing the inappropriateness of releasing information at this time.
