Woman dragged by partner’s car in Madrid dies

The woman dragged by her partner’s car on Monday in Madrid has died in intensive care at the 12 de Octubre Hospital as a result of her serious injuries. The 33-year-old victim argued with her partner, a Dominican citizen, and tried to get into the car holding on to the door while the vehicle was moving, receiving a violent blow to the head in addition to suffering fractures to his extremities. The man was arrested at the scene and is being investigated if it is a case of gender-based violence.

The events took place around 4:30 pm this Monday on Concejo de Teverga Street and Avenida de Entrevías, in the Madrid neighborhood of Puente de Vallecas. There, the couple started an argument inside their home in the presence of their youngest daughter. At that moment, they both hit each other and the fight continued when they went out into the street.

A few minutes later, the couple went to their car and continued the confrontation inside the vehicle, so much so that the woman ended up getting out of the car. After the incident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene by car but returned after a few moments and surrendered to the police already on the scene. The man, a 33-year-old Dominican citizen, was taken to hospital to be treated for a head injury and then taken to the police station.

Accused of mistreatment
