Woman seriously injured in Entrevías when she was hit by a car driven by her partner after an argument

A 33-year-old woman was seriously injured this Monday in Puente de Vallecas after having an argument with her partner during which was hit by the car that this man was drivingwho was hospitalized under police custody.

The events took place around 4:30 p.m. on Concejo de Teverga Street and Avenida de Entrevías, in the Entrevías neighborhood, according to sources from the Madrid Emergency Services.

According to initial information gathered on the scene, the couple started an argument inside their home, which continued in the street, according to police sources told Europa Press. At one point, they both headed to their car and, apparently, The woman tried to enter through the window while the car was movingaccording to the accounts of some witnesses at the scene.

After the events, The driver of the vehicle fled but returned after a few moments and surrendered to the police.The man was admitted to a hospital under police custody, accused of the offence of failing to provide assistance.

National Police officers are waiting make a statement to try to determine the exact circumstances in which the events occurred and whether the woman was accidentally hit by the car or whether there was some kind of intention.

Samur-Protection Civile health workers then treated the woman, who suffered from severe head trauma and several fractures to her left upper limb and left lower limb.

After being stabilized and intubated, she was transferred, on hospital notice, to the 12 de Octubre Hospital, where she was admitted with a serious prognosis.

National Police officers went to the scene and took statements from witnesses, who provided conflicting versions of what happened, according to police sources to Europa Press. Members of the municipal police’s judicial traffic police were also present.
