The City Council has obtained an extension from the Spanish government to “improve the project”, which will soon be put out to tender
Although it was announced that the works to “restore splendor” to the Vega Park would begin in October, after the celebration of the Craft Fair (Farcama), the spokesman for the government team of the Toledo City Council, Juan José Alcalde, confirmed this Wednesday that the start of the works will be postponed until at least the end of the year. What is being advanced is the project, which will soon be put out to tender, as confirmed by the mayor, who explained that the Toledo City Council, like other municipalities in Spain, has obtained an extension from the Spanish government to “improve the project” and carry out the works, which should have been completed next year with the European Next Generation funds.
This project in one of the green lungs of Toledo, which envisages an investment of more than three million euros, was already proposed during the last legislature by the team of Miracles Toulonbut it was taken over and modified by the current corporation composed of PP and Vox and at the head of which is the “popular” Carlos Velazquez, who has chosen to improve not only the urban park, but also the image of the entrance through Bisagra, which will now be called “imperial” with the installation of statues of six kings, three Visigoths and three other Castilians. Added to this is the reorganization of the parking lots in order to leave the entire length of the park free to bring these parking spaces towards Calle Duque de Lerma in a descending direction.
