Our athlete, who won the World Championship of non-Olympic sports held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, answering questions from journalists at the airport, stated that it is essential to believe in victory before the competition:
“Half the work is believing. I believed I would be champion. But I fought for the first time on the international level at 63 kilograms and it was a difficult test for me because it coincided with the world championship. I knew there would be difficult matches, but I felt completely prepared As difficult as it was, our hard work paid off in the Olympic weight class. My goal was to make it back to my weight class at 60kg.
It should be noted that Nihat Mammadli defeated Kazakh Yerjet Jarlikassi in the world championship final 6:1 and climbed to the top of the podium.
