World Chess Olympiad: Azerbaijan teams face Lithuania and Vietnam

Azerbaijani men’s and women’s national teams held the sixth round of the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

Oku.AzAccording to information from , the men’s team lost to Lithuania by 1.5:2.5.

Nijat Abasov – Paulus Pultinevicius 0:1

Shahriyar Mammadyarov – Valery Kazakovski 1:0

The women’s team, which faced Vietnam, won 2.5:1.5.

Ulviyya Fataliyeva – Thi Vo 1:0

Today, the Azerbaijan national team will play its next match at the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest.

So far, our team has won against Jordan, Finland, Moldova and Montenegro and lost against India. Our intellectuals ranked 9th with 8 points.

The team captained by Teymur Rajabov included Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Nijat Abasov, Aydin Suleymanli and Muhammad Muradli.

Our women’s team will face Vietnam. Our team won against Nicaragua, Australia and Slovenia and tied with Argentina and Ukraine. Our women’s team is ranked 11th with 8 points.

The selection team captained by Mikhail Shereshevsky consists of Gunay Mammadzadeh, Govhar Beidullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva, Ulviyya Fataliyeva and Gulnar Mammadovan.
