Azerbaijani men’s and women’s national teams will play matches in the fifth round of the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, today.

It should be noted that our men’s team defeated Montenegro (3-1), Jordan (3.5-0.5), Finland (3.5-0.5) and Moldova (3-1). Our women’s team defeated Slovenia (3-1), Nicaragua (4-0) and Australia (3-1) and tied with Argentina 2-2.
Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Nijat Abasov, Aydin Suleymanli and Muhammad Muradli are participating in the men’s team captained by Teymur Rajabov.
The women’s team, captained by Mikhail Shereshevsky, consists of Gunay Mammadzadeh, Govhar Beidullayeva, Khanim Balajayeva, Ulviyya Fataliyeva and Gulnar Mammadova.
