The schoolchildren who set fire to a helicopter in Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, were accused of committing a crime; the teenagers were in good standing, the governor of the region Dmitry Artyukhov announced this on September 11 during a meeting of the district government.
“The teenagers were actually induced to commit a serious crime in exchange for a monetary reward. It is obvious that they were controlled from outside and now their fate may turn out to be completely different. The boys had a good reputation, they participated in school life, and yet this information exchange in exchange for easy money had such serious consequences.” — his words are quoted in a message on the Telegram channel of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug government.
Artyukhov also stressed that in connection with the incident, “doubts have arisen about the safety of our main transport facilities.” He expressed confidence that serious work will be carried out with the airport owner to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
“If even children were able to enter the territory, what can we say about trained adults? “Here, obviously, despite the efforts that everyone is making, there are still weak points; all the necessary conclusions must be drawn from this.” – the governor noted.
Artyukhov also instructed the youth affairs committee to carry out the necessary work and pay special attention to the education system in order to prevent such cases and to make “digital hygiene lessons a permanent part” of education.
On the same day, it became known that two teenagers, aged 13 and 14, set fire to a helicopter at an airfield in the city of Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It was found that the boys entered a private airfield at night, poured petrol on a helicopter of the Utair airline and set it on fire. The teenagers suffered burns to their faces and hands. It was also found that the boys were persuaded to commit this crime on the courier; they were promised a large sum of money, Izvestia said.
