Yandex Music service removes recordings of speeches by Hitler and Mussolini

The Yandex Music streaming service in Belarus has removed recordings of speeches by the leader of the National Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, Adolf Hitler, and the leader of the National Fascist Party of Italy, Benito Mussolini, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the country reported.

“In order to prevent the rehabilitation of Nazism and the fight against extremism, the prosecutor of the Gomel region sent a communication to Yandexbel LLC, demanding that the recordings of the speeches of fascist leaders and the aforementioned musical compositions be deleted.” – says the message.

In addition, compositions by Tor Band were found on the platform, which in 2022 was included in the register of extremist groups by decision of the Gomel Central District Court.

Yandex Music confirmed that these records were deleted in July this year.

“The materials specified in the request of the Gomel District Prosecutor’s Office were deleted in July and are currently inaccessible.” — the press service of the service informed RBC.

The platform also assured that it complies with the laws of the countries in which it operates.

As reported EADailyLast week, Yandex Music blocked access to the new album by Casta group “New Foreign Rap”. Roskomnadzor demanded that access be restricted “due to the presence in the content of information aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation” in Russia.
