The mayor of the city of Cordoba El Carpio, Carlos Peláez (PP), reacted strongly to certain graffiti he received on a municipal sign placed in the town.
We could read “Die, faggot. PP” and he responded forcefully to those responsible on his social networks. “Yes, I’m a faggot. Yes, I am from the Popular Party. Yes, you are cowards. No, I’m not going to die. No, you don’t scare me.
“If you think this will affect me in one way or another, that’s okay,” the councilor said in a long post. on his Instagram account. He also recalls that, the day before the incident, the municipal plenary session had unanimously approved the inclusion of El Carpio in the network of proud municipalities.
According to him, it is a gesture which becomes even more relevant because it is becoming obvious that there are still “angry people” who believe they can harass people because of their sexual orientation.
The first mayor also specifies that the security cameras have recorded their actions and that the images will be handed over to the judicial authorities with their corresponding complaint.

All my support to the mayor of El Carpio, @SrPelaez_. No one deserves to be insulted because of their sexual condition. Because, even if it may seem incredible, these demonstrations continue to occur in the 21st century.
Let’s fight together for one #Andalusia more respectful and diverse.
