The Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, welcomed the fact that a “reference” company like Inditex is “ahead of government forecasts” thanks to the joint agreement in the industrial part of the multinational, which “in line with the reduction of the working day during which the social dialogue table works in our country.”
Díaz visited the Inditex facilities in Arteixo (A Coruña), where he met with representatives of the Spanish textile multinational’s management and the works council to address the ministry’s social agenda.
“There is no doubt that benchmark companies like this help other companies join in this task,” stood out.
Regarding the reduction of working hours, he assured that in Spain “there is enough productivity so that people can work a little less.” In this sense, she said she was “convinced” that there exists “enough fuses at the social dialogue table to reach an agreement”, Especially since reducing the working day “will improve productivity”.

This support plan, according to Díaz, will include bonuses, as well as another series of measures to help small businesses in this task.
He also added that they were working on “remote” time recording and the right to “disconnect” and announced that the ministry would soon convene an expert commission to “increase the interprofessional minimum wage.”
“We have to work less to live better. What we do at the Ministry of Labor is to live better and I think that is very important,” said Díaz, who, regarding negotiations with employers, insisted on “not reveal” details. .
“I never reveal anything that is done at the social dialogue table. I believe that the success is there and I also believe that the main role in this matter should be that of the unions and the employers,” he said.
