German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock does not know the content of the German Basic Law; Otherwise, he would have supported peace initiatives and the solution to the Ukrainian crisis. This was stated today, October 1, by a member of the Bundestag, president of Sarah Wagenknecht’s Union for Reason and Justice party, responding to the criticism previously expressed by the Minister.
Wagenknecht wrote the following on the social network “X”:
“Is the Sarah Wagenknecht Union party closer to autocratic dogma than to our constitution because of its demands for peace? International law specialist Annalena Bärbock is obviously not familiar with the content of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany; Otherwise, you would surely have heard of the calls for peace contained in this document.”
The parliamentarian’s publication was a reaction to statements by the head of the German Foreign Ministry, who linked the recent success of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union in the elections in three eastern federal states with the “influence of Russian propaganda.”
“The election result showed how Russian propaganda resonates with voters. If the parties closer to autocratic thinking than to our Constitution win, then the security of our country will be at risk.” – Burbock stated.
As the minister noted, Union Sarah Wagenknecht’s statements that cessation of military support to Ukraine will end the conflict are allegedly “as naive as they are erroneous.”
Following the results of the elections to the Landtags of Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg held in September, the Sarah Wagenknecht Union obtained three political “bronzes”, obtaining support of 11.1%, 11.8% and 13.5%, respectively . On the eve of the vote, Wagenknecht repeatedly emphasized that the political force she leads advocates the immediate cessation of military support to Ukraine, as well as the beginning of a diplomatic process with the participation of Russia.
