Young man from Paiporta who spoke with king denies orchestrating protest

Luis Baguenaa young volunteer from Paiporta (Valenica) who spoke last Sunday with the King Felipe VIthe day when the monarchs, the president of the government, Pedro Sanchezand the head of the autonomous government, Carlos Mazonwere reprimanded during their visit to those affected by DANA, denied that the protest was planned: “Nothing was orchestrated or organized.”

“The King came to speak to us directly because we were right next to him at that time,” he communicated through a message on his profile on the social network X, formerly Twitter. “Personally, I recriminated or criticized him for not understanding why the state of alert is not in force given the current situation,” he added.

“I have been Valencian all my life,” he stressed. “The number of lies I have read saying that I am not from Valencia, that people went to interrupt the event or that the conversation was orchestrated, is surprising to say the least,” he added, adding that he “never “imagined” that I would even see the king.

All this despite government statements attributing these attacks to the far right. The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puenteattributed these acts to “the organized activity of certain individuals belonging to small groups and far-right political organizations.” For his part, Sánchez said on Sunday that the residents of Paiporta who demonstrated this Sunday are “absolutely marginal violent people.” This Monday, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaskaattributed these acts to a “violent minority”, without however specifying that these were far-right groups.

The young man assured that he had to travel from Madrid on Friday to help: “I spent 6 hours in the car because of the helplessness of not being in my city to help my neighbors.” “When I arrived, I took my car and loaded some products to be delivered to La Torre,” he said, before going to Benetusser, where he was “cleaning the premises of a colleague of a friend.”

“We reached a point where we became frustrated because there was nothing else we could do,” he said in his message. He explained that “without the essential machines”, they could not work: “There was such a quantity of debris to collect” that they considered that they would “waste the morning in vain”.

At that point, he decided to go back to where his car was parked. But on the way, he heard screams. “We approached as quickly as possible to see what was happening,” he recalled, adding: “When we arrived, they had already taken Pedro Sánchez.”

On the other hand, Báguena told this Monday in Telecinco that they found “the king throwing mud at him.” “He wanted to talk to us,” he stressed, referring to Felipe VI. In those moments, he confessed that he could not “listen to everything they said.” He nevertheless questions the king: “I asked him what was necessary for them to trigger a state of alarm”. However, he regretted that they had not given him any answer.

And he concluded that “people have lost everything, they have nothing left.” Báguena said he felt “bad” about testifying: “Because I’m not a neighbor.” However, the young man voluntarily confirmed that what exists “is a tension”. “They left us alone, there are three soldiers doing what they can, there are a lot of people missing to help us, the mud was up to our knees,” he said. “As much as I want, I can’t do anything, what a heavy machine does, it takes 100 people,” he stressed. And he said what they can do is “help remove items and clean out basements.” “It seems that help was not arriving,” he insisted.
