younger and more radicalized

The ultra movement is more alive than ever and the Police have been alerting for some time. Before the embarrassing events at Atlético de Madrid’s Metropolitan Stadium, one of the last pitched battles between ultra groups took place between Osasuna radicals who beat up one of the Betis after facing flares, bars and foosball sticks.

It was a meeting which ended with a police macro-operation with 84 people arrested. But this is just one of many clashes that have occurred over the past year. A young man was left in a coma after being beaten by Numancia ultras, and in February a Valladolid fan died after being punched by a Burgos ultra.

The ultra movement grew and spread throughout Spain. The most active are the extremely radicalized young people between 17 and 40 years oldsome encouraged by the recent rise of the far right, who find an impact in football advertising that they would not have under normal circumstances.

But as long as they continue to access the stadiums, they will continue to have the medicines they need: attention and importance.
