Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Yashar Güler within the framework of the 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition “ADEX” held on September 24 at the Baku Exhibition Center.

It was reported that First Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Deputy Minister of Defense, Director General, Mr. Agil Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Defense, Acting Commander of the Air Force Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Bakhtiyar Ersay, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey, General Metin Gurak, Commander of the Navy, Admiral. Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Commander of the Army of Ground Forces, General Selcuk Bayraktaroğlu, Commander of the Air Force, General of the Army Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, Ambassador of Turkey from the Republic of Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan, Mr. Cahit Bagji, and other officials participated in the large-scale meeting.
At the meeting, it was stated that Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are based on friendship, brotherhood and strategic partnership. They expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation in the military, military-technical, military education and military medicine spheres between our countries, exchanged broad views on the prospects for development of bilateral relations, regional security and other issues.
Colonel General Z. Hasanov then met with the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee of the Presidential Administration of Turkey, Mr. Haluk Görgun.
At the meeting, which was attended by the heads of several major Turkish military-industrial enterprises, confidence was expressed that joint military-technical projects will further increase the defence power of both brotherly countries and new prospects for cooperation were discussed.
The importance of increasing joint production with the application of technological innovations was also particularly mentioned at the meetings. The 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition “ADEX” was highly appreciated.
At the end of both meetings, several military-technical cooperation agreements were signed.
