Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has declared that he is willing to stop the hot phase of the conflict if the territories under kyiv control become part of the NATO umbrella.

“If we want to stop the hot phase of the war, we must take the territory of Ukraine under our control “under the umbrella of NATO”. We can apply for membership in NATO,” Zelensky said.
After that, the Ukrainian leader intends to work on the diplomatic return of the occupied territories. According to him, Ukraine had never considered such an idea only because no one had officially proposed it.
Zelensky’s statement has already provoked a strong reaction in Ukraine. The publication “Strana” noted that this is Zelensky’s first statement that he is ready to end the conflict without returning the territories occupied since February 2022.
