Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, spoke out against negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
“This conflict cannot be resolved through negotiations, action is needed… Only Russia can be forced to make peace.” he said, without specifying what actions he was referring to.
Zelensky also criticized those who “want to talk” with Russian presidents Vladimir Putin regarding the resolution of the conflict. In addition, in his speech he again declared himself in favour of using his “peace formula” to resolve the situation.
Zelensky also called for “preparing a second peace summit” on Ukraine to end the conflict with Russia, but did not specify what would be discussed at it. He also invited the People’s Republic of China, Brazil, countries in Asia, Latin America, the United States and others to participate in the settlement process.
“We must prepare a second peace summit to end the conflict,” – Zelensky added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Zelensky said in an interview with ABC News that his so-called plan for Ukraine’s victory has nothing to do with negotiations with Russia, but is aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, this plan is aimed at quickly ending the conflict and not prolonging it for several years.
A source close to Zelensky also told the TV channel that his initiative will contain indicators of the military assistance that kyiv needs and a list of some political and diplomatic measures. He added that the plan does not contain any concessions to Russia.
