He is expected to travel to a military munitions plant in Scranton, kicking off a busy week in the United States to bolster support for Ukraine in the war, according to two U.S. officials and a third familiar with Zelensky’s schedule. – writes the newspaper.
The Scranton plant is one of the few plants in the United States that produces 155mm artillery shells. They are used in howitzer systems that can engage targets at a distance of 24 to 32 kilometers and are “highly valued by ground forces for destroying enemy targets from a protected distance,” the statement said.
It should be noted that Ukraine has already received more than 3 million 155mm shells from the United States.
