Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky seemed categorically opposed to the idea that his country would provide land to end the war with Russia.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump hinted that a peaceful deal may include “some kind of exchange of land resources.”
Zelensky said that Ukraine “would not give Russia any reward for what it did,” and that “Ukrainians will not give their land to the conqueror.”
These statements appeared after Trump’s statement on Friday that he would meet with Vladimir Putin, even if the Russian leader does not meet Zelensky. Trump-Putin’s meeting planned for Friday, August 15, in Alaska, is considered a possible opportunity to progress for more than three years.
Zelenski rejected the summit, warning that any negotiations on the termination of the largest conflict in Europe after the Second World War should include Kyiv.
“Any decisions without Ukraine are simultaneously decisions against the world. They will not bring anything. These are dead decisions. They will never work, ”he said.
In the statement published in The Telegram, Zelenski said that the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is guaranteed in the Constitution, should not be subject to reporting and emphasized that the permanent world should include the voice of Ukraine behind the negotiation table.
Ukrainian officials previously announced the association that Kyiv would be susceptible to a peace agreement, which will recognize the actual inability of Ukraine to restore the lost territories.
