The Axius News website reported that US President Donald Trump was discussing with his Ukrainian colleague Folodimir Zelelinsky, on Friday the air defense weapon and the escalation of Russian strikes in Ukraine, a day after Trump’s statement that he had an disappointing conversation with Russia President Vladimir Putin.
According to Axius, the call took about 40 minutes, focusing on the needs of the air defense of Ukraine, and Trump Zelensky told America’s desire to help Ukraine in the field of air defense in response to the escalation of Russian attacks.
The American website announced that the two presidents agreed to a meeting of officials from the two countries soon to discuss the problem of air defense and supply of weapons.
For his part, Zelenski said that he had a “very important and fruitful conversation” with Trump, announcing the gratitude of Ukraine for all the support provided by Washington, which helps her “protect life” and “maintain our freedom and independence”.
Zellinski added to the Platform X, which he agreed with Trump to “increase the defense” of the Ukrainian atmosphere after a new heavy attack, begun by Russia with marches and missiles in Ukraine. He said: “We touched on the possibilities at the air defense level, and we agreed to work together to increase the protection of our aviation field.”
He stated that he discussed in detail with Trump the possibilities of defense industry and joint production, expressing Kyiv’s readiness to enter into direct projects with Washington, saying: “We believe in the importance of this issue for safety, especially in relation to drones and related technologies.”
The Ukrainian president said that they also touched on military purchases, mutual investments, diplomatic efforts and joint work with Washington and other partners.

In turn, Ukrainian President Andre Jermak announced on Friday that Zelenski and Tremba had telephone conversations that he described in the Telegram application as “rich and extremely important”.
On Friday, the Kremlin said that Russia was closely following all Trump’s statements, after he expressed his “severe disappointment” about his recent negotiations with Putin about the war in Ukraine.
Last week, Trump was sure that Putin “sought to establish” the conflict, but he said after the telephone that occurred between them, on Thursday he did not believe that the Russian leader was striving to stop the conflict.
