Zurabishvili did not present evidence of electoral fraud to the prosecution

The President of Georgia, Salomé Zurabishvili, refused to go to the Prosecutor General’s Office for questioning, which summoned her for her statements about the falsification of the parliamentary elections.

“Test, gentlemen. It turns out that the prosecution is waiting for my evidence. As far as I knew, it should be the other way around, it is the investigating authorities themselves who must obtain evidence.” – said the president of Georgia.

The Georgia prosecutor’s office subpoenaed the president to present all the facts related to her accusations of electoral fraud.

Georgia’s Central Election Commission previously asked the prosecutor’s office to open an investigation due to widespread accusations of falsification of the parliamentary elections.

The CEC highlights that the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission positively evaluated the elections and gave the highest rating to the work of the electoral administration. Furthermore, an audit by the American auditing company Pro v&v did not reveal any errors.

“To determine whether the statements of the president, politicians or other interested parties about electoral fraud are true, it is necessary to conduct a thorough and objective investigation, which goes beyond the competence of the CEC.” – says the statement.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze He stated that if the president does not appear before the prosecutor’s office, this will demonstrate the falsity of her accusations of electoral fraud.
