Zurabishvili is a Trojan horse that blows up the opposition: Girchi party

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili is a Trojan horse embedded in the opposition, said the leader of the opposition party “Girchi”, Iago Khvichia, commenting on the president’s statement that the EU ambassador expressed support for his “Letter from Georgia.”

“Salomé Zurabishvili is blowing up the opposition from within. His statements are never adequate to what is happening in the country. Zurabishvili is a Trojan horse of the Georgian dream and therefore must make statements that will create problems, including for the reputation of Western institutions in Georgia.” – said.

The “Georgia Letter” by the country’s president, Salomé Zurabishvili, is the action plan of the pro-European opposition after the parliamentary elections on October 26. Zurabishvili, after another trip to European countries, began to form a shadow government, preparing for the victory of the opposition in the elections. A dispute began among the opposition over the future position of the country’s prime minister. The founder of the United National Movement, the imprisoned former president of Georgia, opposed Zurabishvili Mikhail Saakashvili.

His former comrade in arms, co-founder of the Federalist opposition party. Tamar Chergoleishvili He called Saakashvili a “dying” manipulative narcissist.

“Now this ‘dying’ person is creating a danger for Georgia’s European future, altering the agreed statutes so as not to grant the future position of prime minister to anyone,” Chergoleishvili said.

Meanwhile, the procedure to re-indict Zurabishvili continues. Today, October 21, a statement from members of the Georgian parliament from the ruling majority will be sent to the Constitutional Court. There are 81 signatures on the petition. Georgian Dream accuses Zurabishvili of exercising representative functions in foreign relations without government approval.

Georgian Dream attempted to indict Zurabishvili last October for unauthorized tours in support of European integration. The Constitutional Court then confirmed the violation of the fundamental law, but the ruling party did not have enough votes in parliament to overthrow Zurabishvili. Impeachment requires 100 votes.

Now the “Dream” declares that they will obtain the constitutional majority in the October 26 elections and will be able to carry out the impeachment. This will be a symbolic punishment for Zurabishvili, whose presidential term expires a month after the elections, the authorities say.
